Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone else has an abnormally large stoma? I hear these stories of stomas being flush with skin, people needing convex wafers, and not being able to see the stoma sticking out under clothes. Well I think I must have a large one! Mine kind of looks like a shower head (goes straight out then hangs down) and is about 2 inches long... is that normal??

that's how mine looks too. my husband comments all the time how big it is (nice, huh?). we both expected it to shrink way more. i think the loop ileos are more often smaller and more flush, requiring convexity, while the end ileos (what i and i expect you have) stick straight out and droop a bit. makes sense really.

i watched the super-cool DVD that hollister provided when i was discharged after step 1 (demonstrates all their different products and appliance accessories), and the people in the video had ones that look like ours. so we're cool like that. Smiler
