I'm going back to a temp ileo soon and anticipate having it for a good long while, maybe a few years. One of the main things I'm not looking forward to is having ostomy stuff scattered around all the time. We don't have a lot of bathroom storage space, so when I had my ileo before, there were always extra bags, wafers, bottles of powder, spray, adhesive wipes, etc etc etc. I hope to pare down what I keep handy, and not have a lot of stuff lying around that I'm not regularly using. Just wondering if anyone has any other ideas for keeping the ostomy clutter in check. I always kept my powder, paste, scissors, adhesive wipes and a few bags and wafers in a small pouch that I kept in the bathroom. I put the boxes of extra bags in a storage container under my bed. 1 Step j-pouch surgery 7/10 Emergency ileostomy 7/10 Takedown 5/11 Very happy with my results thus far.

i reorganized my towels and linens and keep a large plastic bin in that area for stuff I use every day - about two weeks supply. Then I have a huge "backup" box stuff I might use infrquently and stuff for beyond two weeks work. I put this box in my clothes closet out of everyday sight. I couldn't stand all the junk around from previous ostomies. So knowing this one could be with me for a long long maybe forever time, I needed to get it managed.

Good ideas, thank you! I just remember having everything all scattered around everywhere and it drove me and my husband crazy. It didn't help that I was trying a new product with almost every change, so I had all different kinds/brands of everything around. I need to only keep exactly what I need/use handy and store the rest out of sight somewhere. Thanks again for the replies! I just keep all my supplies in a drawer in my bedroom and when I need to change, dig out an Eakin Seal and a bag and a disposal bag and go to the bathroom to take a shower. Once done, it all goes in the garbage in the carport. I'm not a complete idiot - some parts of me are missing!

I bought one of those plastic drawer sets on wheels, it's about 1 foot wide, 3 feet tall and about 18 inches deep. It's got 4 drawers and it's in my bedroom tucked into a corner. Keeps everything in one place, bags, flanges, paste, belts, powders........

I have one of those wheelie drawers in my bathroom too! I have it filled with pads, wipes, and every type cream imaginable....but it used to hold my bags and flanges and eakin seals. In November I suppose it will hold my catheters, AM patches, and an irrigation bottle among other things! Either way, I couldn't live without the extra space it provides!
