Ulcerative Colitis kept me away from Hamburgers and red meat for 15 years. I have been indulging in them since having the ileo.

It doesn't matter what burger from any fast food joint, its 10-15 min and my bag is full, happens every time. Always have a BR lined up before the intake starts.

Wonder if this is how my digestive track handles hamburger or if its the "fast food" effect?

that's strange...red meat is usually slow moving in the gut, i find. there's no way it travelled throught you in ten minutes- it takes hours to get through the intestines...i know that when i eat, it stimulates my digestive system so i start to have output in my bag...maybe that is what is going on...are you sure it only happens with burgers?

take care

That's what I can't figure out. With UC.. Hamburgers would set up in me like cement.

I wonder if its the grease and fat that fills the bag so quickly?

I had a very similar issue when i had my ileo. I blamed it on the grease. Anything too greasy always went through like, well, greased lightning. Fries were the worst for me. Burgers made at home were never an issue though, but we always buy ground beef with the lowest fat content, and you know thats not what they use at fastfood joints.

I'm the same! Fast food, milk chocolate, and candy set my ileo in motion. It fills up with a lot of liquid mostly real fast.

My bag fills when/as I eat. By the time I'm finished eating, I have to empty. It does this regardless of what I eat though. I do drink tons of water throughout the day, always have.

Grease and sugar both have this effect on me. Eating always stimulates some movement for me, but with greasy fatty food or if I have a lot of sugar, it creates loose, water, fast-moving stools. I have had this happen a lot over the last few months. If I am gonna eat fast food I try to take some immodium a half-hour before just to try to offset the effect a little. Doesn't really help me regain the weight I lost being sick, lol.
