I used these the first time around and had really good luck with them. This time they literally fall part after the 2nd day. If I shower with it on, they fall apart the first day. The velcro and foam pads come right off, leaving the seal kind of leaky. I'm bummed. Is it possible I got a bad batch?

Have a fabulous day!

Ive noticed that the quality of the product has declined, the last two boxes of product I bought both had issues.

I found out today that to save money Coloplast is having its products made overseas probably with cheaper labour, that might have something to do with it.

Just a theory.

hi,
a few weeks ago, my coloplast bag was leaking through the little round velcro Frowner i was still in the hospital and they gave me the bag or i would have sent the box back. i use convatec now. even convatec seems to have changed over the past years...the amount of fabric that covers the see-through plastic bag has decreased, seems shorter...cheaper to make i guess.

my dad actually complained to someone who has a lot of influence at convatec but she said any changes they make take years sometimes to get to the market...they have to clear out old product first. he was complaining that the filters on the bags are right in front of the stoma- does not make much sense because that is right where stool comes out and the filters get clogged up fast! she says they are planning on moving the filters down but it won't happen for a while.

i think if everyone actually wrote to the companies to complain about things it would make a big difference. they admitted to my dad that they don't wear the appliances and they don't really know what it is like so they rely on our input. i wish there was one perfect bag out there but i find that, at least for me, there are one or two things i like about each brand and i wish i could combine them all. for ex, i love my moldable wafer so much that i use convatec, even though the velcro system convatec has is not as good as coloplast's (in my opinion) so i use a clip bag. and i wish my bag had a filter...

at least if you send faulty products back, i think coloplast is pretty good about replacing them.

take care

I have been able to compare Coloplast and Convatec products from both sides of the Pond and my experience is that the ones made in the US are of poorer quality than those made in Europe. One case is Coloplast's SenSura bags. We have only just been able to get these which are supposed to be the same as our Easiflex Assura bags, but they were horrible quality. The bags were noisy and the fabric quicly became bobbled and worn. the filters leaked and the velco fastening was fiddly to empty and difficult to clean afterwards. I won't be trying them again. I will stick in future to our Easiflex version. Here's a link to the two products:

Definately not impressed.

hey cataja..
i doubt that is the case because the government pays for my bags here in canada and i think we get the yucky senSura bags too. Frowner maybe the government in the UK is just willing to spend more...

take care

I have the same problem with their velcro bags. After 24-48 hours all the velcro bits start falling off. I love my system so much and it work s so well for me that I just change the bag every morning after I shower. The filter works every day then and I am happy. Its almost like their bags were made to only last a day.

I emailed a complaint to Coloplast concerning this. They offered to send me some samples of a newer bag. That did the trick. I can't remember the name, but the number is #11124. It doesn't have the separate velcro strips that were falling off the old bags. I don't know how to describe it but it's like the velcro is built in. So I'm a happy camper again! Smiler

I got samples about a month ago. They had the same problem, foam part coming off the bag, otherwise I liked the pouches so I ordered a couple boxes thinking it just might of been a bad batch. Halfway thru one box and every pouch had the same problem. I was going to contact Coloplast about it, but they contacted me first asking how I liked the samples they sent. I told them about the foam issue. She filed a complaint for me and found out there were a few batches of the Assura pouches that had the wrong adhesive on the foam bottom part. This was causing the foam to come off after bathing or after a few days. They said they have fixed the problem and are replacing the two boxes I bought.

Kudo's to Coloplast. Great Customer Service.

Very Satisfied

Andy
