Can you 'veterans' give me an idea when you stop seeping from your backside? Had not had any for a while (am at 4.5 months perm post-op) and was very active this past week & weekend. Wore old-school gray sweat/shorts and ended up with a wet spot outside and some 'stuff' inside. When you get your butt closed it only seems fair 'closed' means Sorry we're Closed, No Sales, Out of Business, Moved to a New Location..... Do you still get some output? How long have you had your ostomy? Thanks in advance Eric |

Hi Eric,
I had some complications with my j-pouch removal (MRSA) which meant that my wounds took longer to heal but I don't rememebr my anal wound being any worse to deal with than my other wounds. Once the wound had closed I have had no leakage whatsoever from it. I do know that one of our members (Marriedguy)had leakage for a very long time though so you might want to PM him. Here's a link to the thread he started on this site: http://j-pouch.org/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/5531006091/m/1011...531067291#5531067291 If you are worried I would give your suregon a ring to put him in the picture, if only to put your mind at rest. Hopefully this is something and nothing. Take care One glass of red wine per day is good for the heart..... it's just that mine's a big heart so I need a very big glass!!!! D-| Cheers! |

Coach,
I have similar drainage. My surgeon said it is still a living organ that produces mucous and must drain. My red flag is when the drainage is bloody and frequent. I think a phone call to the surgeon's nurse might help. |

Thanks for the replies.
Not worried, no blood, just mucous-y, was more surprised-Thought I had my 'final liquidation sale' down there 1-2 months ago. One side of my mind said '(oh-my-gosh), you had an accident on the football field, can they tell, can they tell' LOL the other side said 'I thought having the OST meant i was done with this (stuff)' Thought it might be due to increased activity. Played/coached basketball last night and dry as the Sahara. Jason-been getting some hockey 'lessons' before Andy starts Hockey to learn the rules/penalties, us city boys didn't get to play on the ice. Andy's thinking of donning the JaPa doo-rag under his helmet ..... eric |

LOL Bud... I am glad all is NORMAL with you and love the comments you make!As for the rag under the helmet.. Its amazing how much you sweat in hockey and it stops it all from going in my eyes. Let me know how the lessons go bud ... BTW I am so happy you are doing well.
