hi all,

I lost my insurance in September, have been getting a minimal amount of help from Hollister, burned through all my saved-up ostomy supplies, and now have to buy some out of pocket. Edgepark is way too expensive, but I found my supplies for a reasonable price on EliteMedical.com. At this point I can't really take a chance on losing money on a disreputable supplier. Has anyone used this supplier or can recommend a good, less expensive company?

I seem to be allergic to every type of adhesive. It's at the point where even paper tape bothers me. While I'd never wish on anyone, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with problems.

And good news. On your recommendations, I switched to Dr. Shen and he did a needle dilation on me last month. It completely got rid of one of my strictures. I go back next month for another round with the electric needle. I'm so excited -- and hopeful! -- so thank you all!

Try http://www.ostogroup.org/ they offer free supplies for the uninsured - all they ask is for postage. E-Bay, believe it or not, is another great source for cheap ostomy supplies Smiler

I'm not a complete idiot - some parts of me are missing!

Stephanie,
PM me with what you need, and I'll send you some stuff if I have it.

Insurance companies are the evil empire...

I've got some Hollister barriers and mini-pouches that my stoma (2 weeks old) has already shrunk out of--drop me a PM and let me know what you're looking for.

I have some Convatec convex wafers and corresponding pouches (one box of each) that you're welcome to have if you can use them! Send me a PM if you'd like them, and I'll send them to you (don't worry about shipping charges; I can send via work for free!).
