i have a clear bag on , if i can see a gap between the stoma and edge of opening of bag flange does that mean i will have a leak very soon because the seal is broken?

Not to worry if you used either stoma paste or a seal such as an eakin or hollister adapt seal underneath the wafer, around the stoma opening...

It might not mean that the seal is broken but if you can see skin between your stoma's base and the opening of the wafer then you may experience skin irritation so it is advisable to change your appliance before stool starts to break down your skin.
Make sure you measure you stoma regularly as it can continue to shrink for some months after your operation. Use cut-to-fit or moldable wafers to make sure you get the correct fitting. If you don't want to use moldable wafers then try using an eakin seal or similar around the base of your stoma before applying your wafer. One glass of red wine per day is good for the heart..... it's just that mine's a big heart so I need a very big glass!!!! D-| Cheers! |
