I had surgery at the Cleveland Clinic for a temp ileostomy on Tues. 1/5/10 (for incontinence and will have repair surgery in a couple of months) flew home to Nashville on Monday. Got home and had to call an ambulance b/c I was in so much pain and nausea. (vomited before I boarded the plane) Got to Vanderbilt hospital and they said I had a small iles and tons of inflammation. Got out of Vanderbilt on Wed. I feel very tired, sometimes nausea and feel just plain awful. Physically and mentally. Also, I'm not adjusting well to having the ostomy. I have already lost 16 lbs. but don't feel like eating much. Any suggestions that would help me would be greatly appreciated. Please pray for me.

pipefitter, are you having output in your ostomy? It sounds like you might have a partial obstruction....is the pain like waves of cramnps? If so, you should stay on liquids (hot tea, white grape juice) and walk as much as possible....

I agree, sounds like a partial obstruction. If you vomit you should go to the ER immediately.
