Because of chronic pouchitis i'm probably going to be going back to a permanent ileostomy. I remember from the temporary ileostomy days one of the issues that guys tend to have is shaving hair around the stoma. Just a thought before surgery but anyone ever though of lazer hair removal from the midsection so as to never have to take a razor any where near the stoma? http://www.spillingmyguts.net http://online.ccfa.org/site/TR...=personal&fr_id=3179 http://www.facebook.com/pages/...248335972119?sk=wall Diagnosed with UC - 10/2003 J-pouch created - 06/23/09 Takedown - 09/15/2009 Diagnosed with chronic pouchitis - 8/2011 Perm ileostomy - 12/13/2011

Never did it but shaving was a hassle. The seal might last longer with the hair removed too. Sounds like a good idea I might end up with an ileo also and would definitely consider something like that.

Now that I scheduled my surgery I called about lazer hair removal, unfortunately its a no go. To totally remove the hair they need 5-7 treatments 6-10 weeks apart. So almost a year advance notice. Oh, well. By the way its around $800, which with all the other costs I'll be incurring I did not feel to keen on. http://www.spillingmyguts.net http://online.ccfa.org/site/TR...=personal&fr_id=3179 http://www.facebook.com/pages/...248335972119?sk=wall Diagnosed with UC - 10/2003 J-pouch created - 06/23/09 Takedown - 09/15/2009 Diagnosed with chronic pouchitis - 8/2011 Perm ileostomy - 12/13/2011
