Has anyone had to have a new stoma revision on the old site because of prolapse without hernia ?
I have to have it done in 2 weeks after over 20 years with this stoma.
Please let me know what to expect.
The surgeon said I will be in the hospital for about 2 days.
Love to hear from anyone.

Oh Virgil - I'm so sorry your stoma isn't behaving. Two days in the hospital sounds like a short stay which leads me to believe that this surgery isn't as complicated as the original. Please let us know how the surgery goes.

And in closing, just let me say: Viva la Ilex!!! Or Praise the Paste!

Dang, Virgil! I'm sorry I don't have anything helpful to say. I haven't had to deal with a prolapsed stoma. It stinks that you have to deal with this. As Kathy asked, do please keep us informed on how things go.

Do you know which hosptial you'll be at and when?

Thank you:
I will be in The U-Mass Memorial Med Center, Worcester, Massachusetts. My surgery is schedualed for April 27, 2007. According to the surgeon, the stoma will remain in the same place as the skin integrity is great. It is just to cut the old one off, and form a new one.
Providing no complications, which none are expected, I should be in the hospital no more than a couple of days. As long as it is working properly, I will be very happy.
Thank everyone and I hope to hear more responses.
