hello everyone, Just wanted to get some advice on my temp loop ileostomy. My stoma has shrunk down near the skin and the supplies I got from the hospital are for stomas that stick out. Im getting ready to order new supplies and just wanted to get feedback on some more experienced ileostomy users.
I was thinking a hollister convex 1 piece system, but im open to views on other brands.

Also, I think the paste is a real pain in the rear and wondered what are the alternatives to paste along with the 1 piece system.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Convex is the way to go. As for paste, I hate the stuff too. I use Eakin seals and they are fabulous! Try the Eakin with the convex wafer....

I would just like to add how much I HATE THE PASTE!!!! What a useless tool for ostomy users. I've had so many problems with it, like just today I change my bad and as I was pulling the bag off the Paste stuck to my skin. I had a horrible time trying to take it off with paste removing wipes which Dont work!!

As I have a temp ileostomy, the ET nurse didnt bother to show me how to use the ring or other forms of skin protection. He just showed me heres a bag, cut, paste, stick done. I have a stoma that is level with the skin and he didnt even mention convex wafers, I had to find out on my own.

All in all the paste is making my short life with an Ileo a real pain and just cant wait to get it rid of it.

Just my rant for today, thanks for listening, advice appreciated.

I'm beginning to gain a much better appreciation for paste than I have had before. It's working really well for me (for now at least!). I am a big fan of Eakin seals, but the things are wicked expensive, and they don't work well for me anymore (*sigh*). I have used the paste strips by Coloplast in the past and REALLY liked the stuff. Cheaper than Eakin seals, completely customizable for different needs, no-sting, and easily moldable.
