Hope all you folks who spent a little time advicing me & encouraging me will be saying a prayer for me & also Indy Dave! This is my 2nd time at xray & scheduled surgery so I pray there is no leaks & also no need to dialate & scope!Hurt like heck & made my bag leak the last time! I thought he was trying to push his finger out my belly button on the other side! I never did get a response to tell me what a fistula was! I am hoping no problems afterward, will I have to have depends for awhile? I am hoping this surgery in comparrison to the other two is a walk in the park. So looking forward to the end of dealing with this loop ileostomy & Stormy Stoma! Hope to meet Dave while in there! Mine is Nov 2 & his is on the 8th. I plan to be out on the 6th! Thanks for your support! Danny

Hi Dan and David,

Fingers, toes and other body parts crossed for a positive x-ray and successful takedown. (typing with my nose at the moment! Smiler)

Dan, are you asking us or did you mean your surgeon didn't give you an answer regarding what a fistula is? This is a link to an old thread on the subject of fistulas:

http://j-pouch.org/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/9151071921/m/2951...871014242#8871014242

I think Jan's description summed it up best. Hope that helped to answer your question. Smiler

Good luck guys. Smiler

Hey folks! Had my xray & everything is go for monday!!! It seems crazy I am all excited & looking forward to this, but I am. The doctor said he was hesitant to tell me that all would be done through my stoma hole because every surgery something has happened. He said he may also have to open the center for the 3rd time but hopefully not! I've been down that road so even if.... all is well! I will keep you posted & God Bless all! Danny

Good luck and say Hi to Dave if you see him in the halls. Big Grin

Take care and keep us posted when you can.

Good luck next week guys, make sure you keep us updated! I will be watching for both of your results closely. Looks like I am getting the pouch creation first week of December, I should be where you guys are at now in mid-January. It’s always nice to have some people go in front of you on these wild rides Smiler.

I had a crazy saturday! Got all my outdoor stuff put away for winter & clean shed & garage, added insulation in attic & covered up wood pile. Had appliance last over 5 days & was almost falling off after shower so I changed it (I thought for my last final time before surgery!) I ended up changing it 4 times before it wouldn't leak! Stoma was an angry little volcano from hell again! Couldn't get the lower part dry enough to stay on skin till last time of shoving a tampon in it till all was ready & then fastened the bag over tampon & took out afterwards! I can't say I will miss this guy! I'll have Heather post my surgery outcome monday evening! Danny

David,

Danny was discussing the game with Dr. R in preop.

Wanted to let you know that this surgery went very well and he was only in for an hour. ...nice compared to the 8 hour one last time. They came to tell me he was out and I thought to myself..did they even do the surgery? Danny just got up to his room about 45 min. ago. Looks good. He is in some pain but is so happy to not have the stoma. So I hope your surgery on Thurs. goes just as well. He got Charmin ultrasoft...hope it works well.

Hopefully (nothing personal..) we will NOT see you in the Big House...
