Has anyone in this group tried schena ostomy bags ? I had my first of three j pouch surgeries on Nov 2 2010 at Barnes Jewish hospital in St Louis . I came home with a regular one piece ostomy bag . What a life changing experience one day you sit down to use the bathroom the next day you empty a bag . Don't get me wrong I knew what I was in for I have had UC for 13 years and tried every drug known to man to try to control it . Anyway when I got home with this bag everytime I had to empty it I thought there has got to be a better way . So I got on the internet and started looking and found Schena ez clean ostomy systems .Web site address (www.ostomyezclean.com) I ordered this system to try it and WOW what diffrence it flushes out with a small water hose conected to your stool or sink . It made my life 100% better you don't have to play in your own poo like you do with regular bags .It is much much cleaner EZ and faster I can,t say enough good things about this system. They offer one piece bags flat, and convex, clear, and opaque, If any one out there is not happy with what they have this is worth a good look . Life with system is much better and every little thing helps.

If you don't mind me asking, who was your surgeon at Barnes? I was planning on having my surgery there this summer and appreciate any advice.

Interesting. What do you you do when you are away from home? Does the bag evacuate normally?

As for travling you have a small water hose and valve that is about 5 inchs long that will pop right on to any drinking water bottle small or large mouth .Then just fill the bottle screw it on the top valve and squeeze . And yes the bag does eavcuate normally just like any other bag or brand .
