Todd,

Good to hear from you. Sounds like you have had a perm ileo from you signature? I have not been on the boards in a while man. I hope everything went well for you. I love Eakin's myself, and I have used them the whole 2.5 years I've had my perm ileo with great results. I just happened to stumble upon them too. Different things work for different people, so if anyone is looking for that one solution, try stuff and see how it works for you.

Matt

Matt,
Yes- had everything ripped out of me on 3/11, and now I've got a perm/end ileo.

Everything went as well as could possibly be, except for the self-induced complications... I, uhmmm, have a tendency to rush things, and pretty much rushed everything possible, making the whole adventure WAYYYY more difficult on myself than necessary.

Very glad to hear you're 2.5 years out with yours, and doing great!

I never tried the eakins with my loop for the months in between step 1 and my take down- the paste worked fine for me, but man- these eakins seals work even better!

Good to hear from you!

Todd, this is kind of a sidebar away from the topic of point, but I thought it was worth mentioning. It looks like in your avatar you are a hockey player? don't be afraid to get back into sports (after your doctors OK's it of course). I have not let this stop anything I've wanted to do, and I think it helps out a lot mentally even more than physically. I've been hitting the weights and playing sports when I get a chance (key word when I get a chance, taking care of our 5 month old daughter keeps me pretty busy too).

Matt,
No way/no how am I going to stop playing hockey.

However, unlike my recovery after this last surgery, I'm NOT going to rush back into it!

Once my butt feels well enough, I'm going to get back onto my bike to get my lungs and legs back, THEN I start thinking about playing again!

I hear you when you say 'WHEN'- I have 3 kids myself- 17 year old daughter, soon to be 8 year old daughter and soon to be 5 year old son! They keep us REAL busy! (in addition to 3 dogs, 1 wife and 20 snakes...)

Keep in touch, buddy!

todd great to hear your doing great now. far as the E seals I use them the first time and now and they work way better than the paste and way easier to come off . YES some times some stays on but soap and water is your friend and a razor for the hair. If you have the wafer on for days and that dooesnt work use adhesion remover works like a charm.. then make sure you use soap and water after the adhension remover so the next wafer sticks good.

Charlotte,
It has now been about 7 months after my operation, and have settled in the 2 piece from Holister. The "new Image" pre-cut wafer, and roll up pouch, with filter. VERY easy to put on, and change . I change out pouches every 3 days, and the whole thing once a week. Pretty easy. I got this hint from a regular that posted here a few months ago. He actually gave a "day by day" evaluation of the product. Hats off to him, because my life became quite a bit easier with this setup.
But, as most have said, everybodies diffrent. Good luck!, Mike
