Phoenix belt & sleeping

I'm sure this has been posted on here before, and I've tried to find a similar post, but couldn't..
My question is about going to sleep with the phoenix belt on. To be honest, I haven't been using the phoenix belt at all. but lately I've been looking for something with a little more support, and I wanted to give it a shot again. my concern is when I'm sleeping. I sleep on my left side, so should I set it up so the bag hangs to the left? I know what a silly question this is, but I'm a little confused with it. Confused and what about emptying it? do you just turn to the side to empty, or do you have to pop it off and turn it to point down at the toilet? silly questions, I know, but if anyone has any insight, please let me know! Thanks!! Smiler

8/17/10: temp. ileostomy (due a failed j-pouch)

I love the Phoenix belt, but I don't use it at night.

Not dumb questions. I wear mine all the time including at night. My stoma is on the right side, so I just hang it on the right side and sleep on the left. The strangest thing to me was the thought of emptying it sideways but it's no big deal at all. You just tilt it and let it slide out Smiler Good luck with yours. I sure wished they'd go back to the older design, I'm currently looking for a replacement belt, the new one sucks for me.

You mean the one piece? If you call and speak with Kerry he will send you one, I got one from him. Let me know how you make out.

Have you checked out the wraps on www. ostomysecrets.com. I have two and they are wonderful. I have not tried the Phoenix belt, but it looks a lot bulkier than the wrap and probably not so comfortable. With the wrap, you wear your bag the regular way and it fits in a sewn in pocket. I wear one every day and love it!!!
