I'm wondering what people use for bag deodorizers. I tried adapt bag lubricator/deodorizer, no luck..still an icky odor. I just got Ostozyme spray deodorizer, it's okay. I am very sensitive to odor, I guess. I heard that putting an aspirin or tictac in the bag works?

Annie, Shaz told me about putting a little peroxide in the bag and it works for me. I add a little peroxide to water when I rinse the bag.
Do a search on the site for peroxide, you'll find some good ideas and some comments on the peroxide. Hope this helps, janna |

Yep, 3% hydrogen peroxide is great for getting rid of odours (plus it's cheap!). No stronger than the 3% mind you. You can usually find it in the first aid section of your supermarket - it's used for scrapes and bruises, and even as a mouthwash!
It's perfectly safe too. I've used it for over 2 years with no negative effects and I even have a friend who's a nurse and has a stoma. He actually poured it straight onto his stoma to test out whether it would hurt it to dispel people's fears and he reported that it had no effect whatsoever on his stoma. Just a quick squirt into your bag each time you empty and next time there is no odour. I'm not a complete idiot - some parts of me are missing! |

M9 drops. 'Can't manage without them! They are the only thing that REALLY works. (And I've tried lots of things.) I get mine from byram healthcare. Any ostomy supply place should have them.
