I am answering my own post here but today is another day, and I just want to let u know the prune juice worked wonderfully!! I had bm last evening. This morning I had two scrambled eggs for breakfast and half a glass of prune juice and saw motion shortly afterwards. YAHOO!!! I am feeling so very blessed and happy now to have had this reversal and to be feeling as well as I do! I am eating small amounts every couple of hours. The pain in my right side (around stoma area) and also where he repaired the peristomal hernia is quite sore but not unbearable. I didn't get my prescription for pain meds filled when I came home..I thought I could tough it out as it wasn't really that bad. Well, I'm not so tough and I am now taking one pill every four hours. It helps tremendously. I am sleeping like a baby at night, so happy that I dont have to be concerned with my pouch getting too full!! I am so very blessed! Thanks for letting me share this with y'all.....Cheryl

Hi Cheryl,

I'm really pleased that things have worked out for you. It's always worrying when you are still learning new tricks of the trade. Remember that now you are using your j-pouch you are using more bowel so your output won't be anywhere near as watery as it was with your loop ileostomy. Sounds like you won't need meds to slow you down and the prune juice is keeping things moving so all is well! Smiler

Good luck and fingers crossed that things continue to improve. Smiler

Take care.

Cool Shell Cool

One glass of red wine per day is good for the heart..... it's just that mine's a big heart so I need a very big glass!!!! D-| Cheers! Wink
