I saw a camo ostomy cover and now I want one. So I bought a yard of mossy oak camo fabric and now I have no idea what to do. I looked online at some but cannot see any details into how they are constructed. Do they come with openings on the bottom to empty or closed and just take it off to empty. Do I just take two pieces of fabric and sandwich them together? How do I make it able to slip over. It seemed really easy in my head when i bought the fabric but now I don't know. I am going to enlist my mother for help but want to make a few for the different sized bags I wear and don't want to waste fabric on experimenting. So any advice would be warmly welcomed!

Keith,
You should get in touch with my mom... she's the best at that kind of stuff.

With my temp ileo, she took all of my undershirts and sewed in a pocket on the inside of them to hold/support the bag- it was great!

This is how I make pouch covers:

- make a template by tracing the pouch on a piece of cardboard or heavy paper. Cut the template out making it a little bigger than the pouch itself to allow for seam allowances.
- Double over your fabric with right sides together and using the template cut out two pieces of fabric.
- Cut a hole on one of the pieces just big enough to fit your pouch through. This will go on the back of the cover
- With right sides together sew all around the cover except on the bottom.
- Turn the cover right side out and voila you have a pouch cover.

You can make the pouch cover with or without a tail piece. If you don't have a tail piece you can leave the pouch tail hanging out of the bottom of the cover or tuck it up inside the cover. If you want you can sew a snap on the bottom so it doesn't fall out. I found that less bulky than the cover with the tail piece.
Hope this helps and that you can make sense of these instructions.

That helps a lot thank you. Maybe I'll sew it up my self, god knows I have the time. The only thing I think I may want to try is to line the hole in the back with elastic but thats probably unnecessary maybe on future covers.

I see this is your first post, welcome to the site!
