Hi, does anyone use the Hollister extended wear new image wafer? I'm trying it out and I was wondering how long "extended" means? I know everyone is different but was just curious. Is the extended wear harsher on the skin?
Thanks!

Hi

I experimented with all brands and types of rigs. Received & tried the free samples from all manufacturers.
Check my posts and especially JasonPa's (Obi-Won) for a long step by step method.

My abs went from a (mostly/near) 6pack to a minefield, looks like a cracked bowl that is upside down and missing a piece (a Crevice), nothing adhered for the first 4-6 weeks.
Now:
I use Keraya powder (for aggravated skin and to prevent its return), then permatype cement, then an Eakins seal, then a Hollister extended wear wafer (stays on better than Convatec if you have a misshapen bumpy area like me, then a Convatec 'snap-on' pouch with the velcro closure (Yes, I mix brands-Holiister lock and roll has a too-short tail for me and sticks out up top when full; I swab the same cement on the 'tupperware' prior to snapping in/on), then wear the 'white' belt; and have gotten up to 7 days though I average about 5 days

Good Luck
E

CoachE, What size flange do use with the Hollister to match with the Convatec snap on pouch. Looking in the Edgepark catalog it would seem the 2-1/4' flange/57mm would match. I have had best results so far with the Hollister New Image Flextend flange with tape, but have a problem with the pouch pulling off and some leaks in the tail. I'm trying a Convatec Sensura Durahesive flange and pouch now and like the snap on bag with velcro, had a little trouble snapping it on as I was used to the Hollister floating flange where you can snap it from behind. I liked the Coloplast locking pouch, but the flange was itchy and won't stay on as well. Do you need the belt and cement to keep the combo on?

Hi KC112669 ,
I use the Hollister "New Image", and get a week with the flange. Every Sunday Morning I change whether I need to or not. I get mine pre-cut, and use the 1 3/4 flange, with a 1" pre-cut. Very easy to change. No Tape or anything required to keep it on.The Tupperware design, makes it VERY easy to change pouches. I've been using then for over a year now. Considered checking others, but why? Great system.

My son has been using the adult hollister flextend wafers since he was 2 months old.

Obviously his skin is very delicate. Not a single problem!!!!

I highly recommend them. He only gets 3-4 days from the wafer, but compared to 3-4 hours from the other brands we tried, I am quite happy
