I am currently taking cipro 500mg twice a day, and have a really sore back. This happened last time, but at the time I was working out and thought they were sore from that. But this time I haven't even been to the gym?
So I was researching side effects and saw the information about tendonitis? But this is pain/soreness when I use my lower back muscles. Also I read that dreams and hallucinations are a side effect as well.
If these really are side effects, are they causing damage? Should I stop taking it? I stopped taking two pills a day and am still under control.

Dehydration could be part of the problem..Drink tons of water to help to eliminate the excess toxins and clean out those kidneys.
If you are really worried ask your doctor if there is another antibiotic that he can substitute in for it..but they may not want to in the middle of a treatment...
