i had step 1, 8 weeks ago and looking to have step 2 in august if i can get some weight back. is it possible to get pouchitis between steps? about 2 weeks ago i started having alot of mucous from the rectum. the first 6 weeks it was like maybe once or twice a week, now its a few times a day. its always clear or white, with maybe a handful of times a pink hue on the paper. the funny thing is as i am sitting and releasing the mucous, when it is done if i clinch up my muscles like a kegal exercise, when i release, more mucous comes out. is this a sign of pouchitis?

No it's not necessarily a sign of pouchitis. What you are experiencing is perfectly normal. The unused protion of your ileum as well as your new j-pouch are still living working bowel and it produces mucous all the time. The little bit of blood you describe is also normal.

Having said that, I did get pouchitis before my takedown but I think that was the exception rather than the rule. I think that if you are worried you should call your doctor for advice if only to put your minds at rest.
