does anyone know if there are different ways of doing operation for cuffitis ??my doctor has talked about it as trimming the lining of the cuff..is that different than other ways to do a mucosectomy???

also i have read it is very,very painful in the recovery..and we could be talking about three months..rebecca

trying to find out what i can in the event i might need it down the line..

Rebecca, What your doc described is a mucousectomy. I am not sure about their individual techniques but it definately sounds like a pretty standardized procedure in regards to how it is performed. The only different tchniques I have heard are stapled vs. hand sewn, and I believe that hand sewn is the standard, but not necessarily always how its done. Good Luck, Scott Mc
