I had my surgery in 2005 and my mayjor symptoms are bleeding. My surgeon checked me out 2 yrs ago but the blood i see blood most of the week. Sometimes the water in the toilet is red. Everything else seems fine. Starting to think that the pain i have in my tail bone and butt checks could be symptoms too. Dr told me it was arthritis but maybe it's pouchitis. What could i do to control the bleeding? Thanks for your help and ideas | |||

Bleeding is more a symptom of cuffitis than of pouchitis. And the two are treated differently. Do a search here on cuffitis - you'll get lots of information and you can see if it matches your symptoms. kathy *********************************************************** Lately it occurs to me, what a long strange trip it's been..... I don't disagree with the cuffitis commonality but there are exceptions to every rule. Blood and pain are my biggest symptoms and we know where the problem is...not in my cuff. probiotics help even with blood for me, currently on rectal and oral anti inflammatory, Ferrous Sulfate, and allopurinol.
