lol..me neither. I didn't mean to put this post under pouchitis, I meant to put it under help now, but I don't know how to move it, or if I would have to post it again. Hopefully someone will see it here and have some answers for both of us!

Hi Everyone, I usually have just been reading all the post and not posting myself but I read yours and had to respond. I just recentley had a spell of this. Almost feels like constipation to me but painful. I called my doctor last week and he advise another case of pouchitus. Been on Cipro for about 4 days now and it has cleared up. It really hurts though. Hope you get better soon. Marie

Rani, when I first had problems emptying, I had a scope done and it showed pouchitis. Dr. Milsom said that sometimes the inflammation can cause problems emptying and he put me on 2 weeks of cipro. It didn't really work for me, because my problems were much more involved, but I know it has worked for some members here.
The first thing I did when things starting feeling like that was to adjust my diet and balance slower moving foods with more vegetables and fruit, and fruit juices.
I hope things start getting better, but if not, it's time for a call to the doctor. Keep in touch,
janna

I was getting nervous when no one replied! Janna I actually have an appointment with a new GI in NJ tomorrow. I needed a doctor closer to home and some one on this site suggested him. I made the appointment a while ago, before I started feeling like this, so I guess the timings good. I will still keep in touch with Dr.s Scherl and Milsom though, because if anything is serious they are the doctors I trust to fix me up. Hopefully whatever this is will pass. I read about your recent struggles. I hope that they are all past you now. How do you feel since surgery? Rani

Hi Rani, I think I know what you're going through, I had the same thing happen to me when I first started on the cipro. I always felt like I had to go but when I got there I had a hard time getting it out. It turned out that I needed a stretching of my pouch, or more where it was connected to the rectum. I also find that happens when I eat something that bulks me up like rice or anything starchy. Well I hope you find some relief soon, keep us posted. Tina
