Hi all...I live in the Boston area, and have been very unhappy with my treatment at MGH. I was wondering if anyone can suggest a new GI doc in the Boston area, possibly at either Beth Israel or Brigham and Women's. Preferably someone who has experience/specializes in recurrent Pouchitis. Please Help!

What about Lahey Clinic? I've heard great things about them- my CR surgeon in CT trained there and he's excellent. Just a thought.

Hi Jessica...I might be interested in driving to Providence. I'm originally from RI, and my family is still there. I'll take any suggestions!

I cannot, cannot say enough about my GI - I've been with him 9 years and wouldn't go to anyone else - Dr Douglas Pleskow at the BI. He is very kind, compassionate and thoughtful about his patients care. He will give you whatever time you need to discuss your issues and truly cares for his patients.

I remember being in the ER overnight waiting for a room at the height of my illness. It was 6am and Dr Pleskow came down to see me. He rested his hand on mine and told me we would figure out how to get me well. He has been very supportive of me and didn't get worked up about me (and at times my whole family) being involved in my treatment.

An added bonus is that he is part of a 6 GI dr practice and I really like 4 of them, the 5th is okay and the 6th I avoid, but I feel that I always have someone that knows me and my case available 24 hours a day (when patients are in active care, the group meets regularly to discuss each patients treatment).

Let me know if you want more info...

Hi,
I think the best GI in Boston is Francis Farraye at Boston Medical. He usually wins outstanding awards from CCFA for patient care and research. I went to him prior to moving south. If you need any additional info, contact me.
