For those of you that take VSL 3# DS, what do you mix your packets with? I just started it this weekend and I'm not too thrilled about any combinations so far. I have tried it with applesauce like the packet recommends, but I don't think I will do that again. Pudding works okay but I thought I would consult the pros. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

I mix VSL with yogurt. I have also dissolved it in juice, but yogurt is the best.

I only did the VSL#3 DS for a couple of weeks and I mixed it with fruit punch flavored Gatorade and drank a glass with one packet in the morning.

I mix it into a half bottle of water, shake it up and drink it. You get use to the taste.

I use VSL#3ds and mix it with "Rice Dream" vanilla flavored rice milk, and love the taste. I've tried other brands of rice milk and it is not as good.

I've heard two different schools of thought on how to take it. One is to mix it in with something cold such as yogurt, applesauce, etc. I found that lemon flavor tasted gross when mixed with applesauce, but yogurt worked well and I liked getting the added benefit from the yogurt, too. I've also heard that probotics should be taken on an empty stomach and without food -- it was something about not getting the stomach acids to start working while the probiotics were colonizing? I've tried VSL both ways - with yogurt and just mixed with cold water - and the yogurt went down a heck of a lot easier. I didn't notice a difference in its efficacy either way,.

Try it with a glass of orange juice with a splash of vanilla extract.

Does it dissolve in liquid? I haven't tried water or juice yet!

I had trouble getting it to dissolve when I stirred it into a glass of water with a spoon and I didn't like the clumps. What worked for me was to buy a shaker bottle (sports water bottle would do the same thing) and put cold water in there, then add the VSL and shake vigorously.

I will try that! Thank you for all your suggestions...after the applesauce thing I knew someone would have better ideas!

I mix 3 pouches with apple juice in a shot glass first thing in the morning and chase it with more apple juice. I then wait about an hour before I have anything else to eat or drink.
