Hi everyone. I suffer from pouchitis, and would like to know if anyone is worse at certain times of the day. I find that im definately worse from mid afternoon for a few hours and then through the night.I seem to clear out and I feel ok in the mornings right through to mid afternoon, then I start again. I make no arrangements to go anywhere around this time, Id luv to get my life back aggggrrrr.

Hi Robert, I also have the same problems as you do. Just seems like after I eat during the day I have to use the rest room more and my stomach hurts so bad that I have to lay down. Also I usually eat before I go to sleep and that causes me to have to get up more often during the night to go. I have been working on not eating so late, but it's kind of hard when my stomach feels empty. My mornings are really bad also, it usually takes me a while to get out the bed from feeling so yucky.

Robert,

Many people on this forum have said the same thing regardless if they have pouchitis or not. Pretty calm pouch during the day, but crazy busy during the evening. Mine is most busy from about 5pm-10pm and then I used to get breaks at night, but not anymore. I also have chronic pouchitis, but even when I was asymptomatic, my pouch was always most active around those hours.

Other than taking Immodium to slow things down, my thoughts are that your pouch will have an active time of day and a slow time. It really only makes sense as we eat all day long and then don't eat for so many hours at night. Depending on how long your digestion takes, people wil have more active pouches at different times of day.

Can't offer any suggestions to better the situation as I have the same issues. But diet can definitely have a strong influence.
