Your explanation of "passing glass" would indicate a fissure to me. If you're not familiar, that is basically a small tear in your anus. They are extremely painful. Blood is not always seen with pouchitis, although some people experience it. Best thing to do is call your surgeon. In the meantime, get in your tub and soak as often as you can, take some Tylenol if you need it....your surgeon will probably prescribe a cortisone/topical cream. Some people also use a topical numbing cream. Good luck, I'd bet you have a fissure

Kim - I agree with Shelby. It sounds like a fissure. The classic symptom? Feels like you're crapping glass or razor blades. Make an appointment with your doctor. Another medication they might prescribe is nitroglycerin with might cause a bad headache that lasts several minutes. Also, adjust your food so you lessen the number of bowel movements you're having. kathy
