Hi guys

Was in hospital with pouchitus last week
still on Flagyl been 13 days now.

Although the campy colicky pain has subsided
I still have pain in the right side of pouch
this area was tender when I was examined.

Also my pouch feels like someone has been using it as a punching / kicking bag. It's very tender and sore.

After I eat something - even something small like a boiled egg, leaves my completely bloated and full for the rest of the day.

CT scan revealed severe inflammation.

What to do from here?

I have no advice, just sympathy. I am so sorry. We go through a lot and then to have this must be so hard. If you have not said other things in addition to flagyl you have tried, you may want to do that. I don't come on a lot these days, so do not know if you have been posting.

Do the Dr's have you on something for the inflammation too? Like prednisone, canasa, or something like that? It may be worth a shot to help try to beat down the inflammation a bit. Good Luck, Scott Mc

Thanks Drew

My biggest problem is I am unable to use enemas any more. I have some cortisol enemas which I used to find brilliant but can no longer insert them.

I have another post going on my shrinking anus.

Ahh my surgeon told me to phone him if I not improved, so it looks like I will be going in for a gastroscopy.

Ah well I am way over due for a scope so it's probably for the best.

I think she mentioned she has an anal stricture, so it must be too small to insert the enema tip. I would think that an anal stricture that tight is just adding to her problems and a dilation is in order.

Take a deep breath and relax; this too will pass.
