What do you all's docs prescribe you for pain. I feel horrible all night and my GI (I am currently trying to get reffered to a new one) called me in Tramodol and it is doing nothing.

I take Percocet as needed and that's usually about once a month.
It seems to take 30 to 60 min. to kick in. After taking it I lay down with the hot pad on my gut. It works just fine for me. Peggy in Haskins, Ohio - I'd be lost with out all of you! |

thanks for your replies, I have been off pain meds for some time now because i have been so scared to ask for any because because of becoming so dependent on them while in the hospital and after surgeries. But the pouchitis has really gotten bad and the tramadol isnt helping at all.
Thanks for your help. God bless Best, Jeanine |

Hi Jeanie,
I have the opposite problem to most people and even with Wee Willie (my perminent ileostomy) my output gets too thick with most pain meds. I now take Tramadol because it DOESN'T slow my gut down too much so you might want to get your doctor to prescribe something with codeine in it for the pain while you have pouchitis as this will help to slow you down as well as help with the pain. Hope you feel better soon. Take care One glass of red wine per day is good for the heart..... it's just that mine's a big heart so I need a very big glass!!!! D-| Cheers! |

I take percocet as needed but I have found that since I am on antibiotics for pouchitis I haven't needed them at all.
