Hi I was on antibiotics once I think for pouchitis and it didn't work very well. So that is why my doctors are agaisnst it because they just want to stick with the enemas.

What antibiotic did you try? Not all antibiotics work for everyone. Cipro doesn't work for me but it does for most people whereas flagyl does (whereas some people just can't tolerate it).

I suppose if the enemas work then stick to them. If they don't then think about whether another antibiotic might be appropriate.

Michael,

The antiobiotics seem to cause problems for me. My stomach cant tolerate flagel for more than 3 days, and cipro i believe may be the causse of my dizziness.

There is also Augmentin and Tinidazole. I cant take them either.

Try probiotics with your enemas.

Cheers
Jerry
