Hello all,

I posted this in the general, but perhaps someone here can help me. Surgeries where in 07. In January I had a very unpleasant three day obstruction and was hospitalized... things never seemed to come back to normal, bm's have been too loose. For the last couple of weeks however I have had pain that wraps around the back of my buttocks to my thighs and lower back. The bm's have gone from loose to pure water with a bit of mucous and pink (blood).

The aches have not stopped me from going to the gym daily or work, but I am starting to get very concerned and scared. Yesterday I ate 2 small tubs of Greek yogurt and honey and my aches seemed to have gone away, however the pink watery stool persists.

Could this be a mild pouchitis??

Hi Mark J,
Sorry to hear your not feeling well. Was the obstruction due to a stricture or adhesion?

My daughter has had pain with a persistent stricture to the inlet of her pouch, that has caused a blockage twice and the stools are smaller and then watery.

She has to have a balloon dilation on the strictured area for relief.

Thanks for your reply. I got scoped yesterday and i have mild inflamation, it's pouchitis. Took my first flagyl last night and I am having stomach cramps this morning that feel very similar to an obstruction. Frowner
