Hi..well n wish to hear the same frm u all..my father had a j-pouch surgery done on 28th may'10 (after the temporary illeostomy n sub total collectomy).Before n during the surgery this site reali supported a lot..bt nw again he is in problem and has been admitted to the hospital twice...In the first episode the sigmoscopy report relieved severe pouchitis....which was in control by giving antibiotics like oflox,measacol anaema n so on...nw againduring the second episode the doctor said that the instenial walls ve stuck together..n if this happens the third tym it needs to be operated...my father is reali afraid of the fourth surgery...The present CT scan or more precisely CECT whole abdomen reports were ok(Our doctor doubted fr edemal growth in the intestine).
Lyk my father I'am also worried he has already become so weak since two years....spent all this time on bed..Please do tell me if u ve heard or seen this..Provide me with the best remedies and the best of links..I'll be thankful to you...Wishing all a good health..

I'm assuming that what is going on with your father is adhesions. Adhesions can cause a lot of pain. Do a search here on adhesions and you'll get lots of information. You also might want to private message Jan Dollar for more information.

The problem with adhesions is that if your father is prone to developing them, more surgery might just create more adhesions. I think that they can help with adhesion formation with a barrier product like seprafilm (I think I have this correct).

It's still early in your father's recovery process and the process often takes a very long time. I can completely understand his fear of another surgery. Please let us know how things are going.
