Treatment based on symptoms alone is pretty reasonable, but if the symptoms return, you probably need to be scoped to make sure it really is pouchitis and not IPS (irritable pouch syndrome). Jan

IPS is virtually the same as IBS and is a functional state. There is no cure, per se, but there is treatment. Typically, antidepressants and antispasmotics are the best treatment. Jan
