I am almost one year after take down and was having a more than bad time about a month ago. Was given cipro and things were going sooo well that I was like is this how this pouch is supposed to work? I am wondering if that means I have been dealing with pouchitis on some level before. I've been taking it for 4 weeks now and it seems to be not as wonderful as the first few weeks. So people take cipro everyday? I didn't realize you could take it long term. I guess I'm just a little unsure, is the drug suppose to get you back to normal because for me I've never had it working this well. I go in for my year scope next month and hopefully they can help me figure it out. I really want to start working again ( home the last few years with a 2 year old, UC brought on while pregnant
). I haven't felt ready but if it could work like this I think I could.

You could have had pouchitis all along and that is why the cipro was working. Some people are on it long term but at low doses. You could start to wean off them and see how the pouch works. It always helped my daughter to do a slow wean off the cipro after she was on it for a while and then things went back to normal.
