Suspected pouchitis?

I had 3 stage IPAA J-pouch surgeries, the last of which was performed in Feb 2011. Thereafter in March, I had profuse bleeding in the stools, for which I was admitted to the hospital again. The doctors after sugerically stopping the bleeder diagnosed it as pouchitis and I was treated with augmentin and wyzolone(steroid). The BM came down to about 12 a day. Now, since the past 2-3 weeks I am again having about 20 BM a day, watery stools, continous burning sensation around the anus, fever going upto 101.5, though no visible bleeding. The doctors have advised me to start on cipro and see them if need be after a week. Does this sound like pouchitis or could it be something else?

Also, does anyone have any suggestions as to what I could do to help the situation. Any particular medication or dietary advise? Also, I was wondering if Dr. Shen (who has been mentioned in many posts) or other doctors who anyone knows of do online consultations or consultations by phone/ video conferencing? I live in India and feel like the doctors here maybe don't deal with many post IPAA cases.

sure could be pouchitis. If the Dr say go on the cypro then thats what you should do. In many cases you will start top feel the difernce within a few days. I take Flagyl as a alternative to cypro when the other stops working
