I have a GI appointment tomorrow. Am in a bit of pain today: cramping, sharp pains, stomach upset; muscle spasms down into my thigh. Wickedly tired. No fever, no blood, no mucus. A bit more runny, but was thicker yesterday, so cannot say I'm having urgency (although I definitely was about a week ago!). Assuming this is pouchitis, is there anything I can do in the meantime, before my appointment, to help the symptoms?

Gin - if it is pouchitis, it sounds like it's to a point where you really need to get those antibiotics in you. I'm wondering if you can call your doctor, describe the symptoms (and wonder out loud if it might be pouchitis), and see if s/he can prescribe something over the phone. Other than that, I don't know if there's much you can do to alleviate pouchitis misery.
