Friends, I have posted on & off over the years. I have had a year of being on, mostly, cipro and or flagyl. Any time I went off the antibiotics within a couple of weeks I'd get the symptoms again. On the meds I felt okay. About a month ago I had a sygmoidoscopy. My gastro told me I had moderate to severe pouchitis. He put me on prednisone, oh what fun. I decide to take a closer look at my diet, because I did not want to lose my pouch and I felt like crap. I have changed my food completely and feel like a new man. I have cut out dairy as well as gluten. I thought I would feel deprived, but the truth is there's plenty to eat. I have also slowly added certain nutrititional supplements with success. All I can say is this has made a significant change in my health. Just a note of hope for those of us who suffer.
