Hi Barbara Anne,
New to this list and life w/ an ileostomy(emergency colectomy due to perforated colon 1/8/08,funny thing is I was going into UCSF for 2nd opinion, really felt weird that day, so code blue then woke up 4 days later w/a bag...but I'm alive and here to enjoy life another day;-)...I thought I'd give you the name of the head colorectal surgeon at UCSF Dr. Garcia-Aguilar, he looked at me and a chest x-ray for 2 minutes and knew I was going down. Anyway, nice soft-spoken Dr. that knows his stuff. His assistant/nurse practitioner Lois Ann is also very helpful, her number is (415) 885-3613. That day I was going to see Dr.Uma Mahadevan (GI)...still wondering if I will continue w/ her. Anyway their website is HTTP://gi.ucsf.edu/ I'm still getting used to all this stuff, and have more questions then answers...would enjoy talking/meeting w/ people in the SF Bay Area. I live in the North Bay...a little town named Fairfax(where hippies go to die, so they say;-). Don't even know how this text will post or how to send a PM...but feel free to contact me. Namaste, Cindy |

Hi ARC10,
Just wondering if your surgeons knew why you had a perforated colon. I underwent emergency surgery in April 07 for a necrotic colon...Dr's still not sure why this occurred. |
