Diagnosed with UC in 2008 but really never had huge complications with it until March 2011. Been fighting it all year tried all medicines.. humira, asacolhd, sulf, prednisone, remicade etc. Currently just taking prednisone to somewhat control bleeding with ive already had 8 units of blood this year. Having surgery in december in 3 stages, what should i exspect from this? I know of complicatons but any success storya out there?

Surgery is painful but not as painful as UC. Not by far. As for success stories: There are lots. I am one. But this board is mostly frequented by those with problems. Just keep that in mind. Hope your surgery goes well.
