Hi All:

For the last couple of weeks or so I have felt like I have had a low grade case of pouchitis. I have been putting off taking flagyl because I didnt want to take a 10 day course of it for a minor case. I wouldn't mind knocking back the pouchitis though.

Does anyone know the shortest treatment of flaygl i can take? I would like to be able to stop after a day or two if the symptoms clear up instead of going the whole 10 days, but i am pretty sure that is a big no no when it comes to antibiotics.

Any input would be great.
Thanks,
Mike

7 days is about the shortest course for actual pouchitis. But, if you think you only have bacterial overgrowth, 5 days should be OK, since it is not really an infection.

Take a deep breath and relax; this too will pass.
