Better bowels after being sick

I believe this has to do with pouchitis but does anyone recover from pouchitis for a while after being sick, like a cold or the flu? This seems to happen to me quite a bit.

I don't recall this ever being the case for me.

Just going through the tail end of an inner ear infection and have noticed that my bowels have been much better than usual. Even commented on this to my wife. The last week or so was thinking about how my bowels do seem better during or just after I have an infection such as cold/flu and then came upon your post!
