Have any of you men have a chronic low testosterone ? I'm 50 ,had UC for 20 yr. I'm now post 11 weeks take down..For 1 yr now I have been having a low testoserone level around 160... My urologist has tried me on jells and now a patch 2.5 mg for 1 month and my levels still stay low... I'm also on a low med for a thyroid proplem... My erections have gotten some better since my last surgery but NOT any where near what it was 1.5 yrs ago... I have no desire for intimacy at all and takes alot of effort to try... I'm engaged... and want my sex life to get back to Normal... I do feel alot stronger and have more engery since no more UC, working out and trying to watch what I eat to stay away from the butt burn...
My doctor states it should get better that this is all from the surgery... but I had this problem a yr before the surgery... Any suggestion or has anyone gone through this problem ...?
This site has brought me alot of information and support for the past few months...
MY best to all..
Brian

I'm gatecrashing your forum, guys...having the exact same problem, but I'm on the other side of the fence. I seriously wonder whether I need some testosterone to get some kind of desire stirring. Women have small amounts of testosterone, right? That's what gives us sex drive, too, unless I'm completely off the mark here. Well, I know how you guys feel. It's pretty devastating having a partner who has needs and there's just no way on earth you can fulfil them. I always have the option of just lying there passively and "receiving" but when you really don't want sex, this destroys your soul. I swear I feel like a hooker, completely unattached and distant. My husband would be mortified if he knew. There's pretty much nothing I hide from him, except this. I hope your wives/girlfriends can hang in there and give you time. I know that the more my husband tells me how many days/weeks it is since we made love, the less I want to do it. Illness and surgery really does a number on us Frowner

Brian, I am 52 and also have low testosterone levels. Neither the gel nor the patch worked for me; however, I now get biweekly IM injections and that has made an appreciable difference in both my numerical level and in my libido.

Oops. I just realized that this thread was resurrected after a one-year hiatus. I need to pay more attention to dates before I respond to posts!

Try tribestan it works great for both woman and men alike, it is tribulus terrestris a natural plant that increases test levels. I used to be a bodybuilder and used it on "off" times.
