Avoid anything that has a lot of bulk in the day prior to running. Eat early (before 5 PM) the evening before a big run. Wake in time to empty your pouch, walk a little to loosen up (or do some warm up drills), go to bathroom again and then you should be good. Just ran my first marathon in Philly. I ate pasta/chicken at 5 PM night prior, drank my sports fuel (infinit) prior to running, had fuel in a backpack that I sipped on as I ran, chewed on 1 x caffeine gu chews every 2 or 3 miles, and got through in 3 hours 35 mins. The bloody mary and mimosas (shared with wife and her friends who ran) went down easily after.
